Simple Things Becoming Strange

Hi all,
When i had quite nothing to do this weekend, i jus opened my videos collection in Orkut and was jus seeing the videos i had added and kept. when i came across this video which was added by me a cpl of months back, i noted something strange. it had more than 165 million views. Its no record video. no achievement video, nor any strange video. Just a simple home made video of two brothers, Charlie and harry.
I initially thought that, that it is just due to the spread and some coincidence. but later on exploring a bit, I got to know the popularity of this brothers. That popularity is of course created because of this video of course. There are hundreds of videos over youtube imitating this video. and this duo has also come in numerous TV interviews. there are dedicated blogs and twitter page for them. There is nothing very special in this video except for the cute reactions by harry.
It’s a home movie that any parent would be proud of – but this clip of a little boy biting his brother’s finger has become an unlikely internet hit – with more than 165 MILLION views. Titled Charlie bit my finger – again! The 50-second clip features two-year-old Charlie Davies-Carr sinking his teeth into his five-year-old brother Harry’s finger. It was initially posted on YouTube in 2007 by their father, Howard Davies-Carr, so that the boys’ godfather in the US could see them. The charming clip has seen the pair propelled to stardom after it was featured on American TV shows and has resulted in several worldwide fan clubs being set up for the boys. Even mobile ringtones sample the clip, which shows Harry yelling: ‘Ouch, Charlie, ouch! Charlie that really hurts.’
Huh!! the video is really funny and the news is really worth sharing.

Isn't it??

Prestigious People, Who make India Proud..!!

Hi people,
After having just slept and ate @ home for more than half a year, i too have joined in a company and have been working for the past 2 months.. I was really free then and i used to put out some regular posts and after having joined here things are completely different. I am not able to provide you with regular posts as before because of work pressure at the company... Wow.. it really feels good to lie..! well.. nothing of that sort.. am equally free as i was, even now.. but the issue is that i kinda forgot this hobby of mine..! good that after reading an interesting news, i got remembered that me too have a blog and thus came here to post about the issue.
Coming to the point, Padma awards!! there are three grades of awards namely
  • Padma Vibhushan
  • Padma bhushan
  • Padma shree
These are considered as the most prestigious awards given to the experts (or whatever u call them) in various fields like arts, sports, science, etc.. The question is about who should get the award, who deserves it and who does not, especially in the light of the recent list of awardees.. I dont have the rights to talk about all discipline. but i have some idea about the sports and arts field. Well lets start with sports. Still some of the olympic medalist have not been awarded Padma awards. Bindra got an award for getting gold medal. but what happened to Sushil. many of us hardly remember that name.
Next comes Arts, huh!! Governments wants Entertainment factor in the awards too. last year both Helen and Aishwarya Rai were conferred with Padma Shree. I mean one is at the peak of her career and the other has been away from cinema for ages now. Similarly this year too both Saif and Rekha have been awarded the Padma Shree. How can this be possible? Is the government confessing that it made a mistake by not giving Padma Shree to helen these many years?.. Well Even in this case, Rassul Pookutty, The Oscar winner.., Doesnt he deserve a padma award?? Or is Padma shree much more precious that only Artists like Akshay, Aish can get and oscar winners cant get that.. (thank god, AR Rahman was given one this year). And I smell something very odd in the selection of Illayaraja for the topmost Padma Vibhushan. He has achieved his peak decades back and he being given the award now is something odd. or is it that, since ARR is being awarded, some forces pulled that there is a senior still waiting?? ( only god and that panel knows).
Well coming to a general perspective, Sant Chatwal was included in the list of awardees for Padma Bhushan. Now Sant Chatwal is a rich hotelier based in US who is famous for hobnobbing with the rich and famous Americans, particularly the Clintons. It is another matter (for the govt) that he has been charged with fraud and tax evasion in US to the tune of nearly $100 million dollars. It is also an even smaller matter that banks whom he defrauded include three Indian banks and CBI has filed cases against him, some of which have since been closed though (is anyone surprised?). Hillary Clinton too had to face lot of embarrassment due to her links with Chatwal during her campaign for the office of president.
After having seen the peaks in sports and Arts, coming to Science and technology, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was able to get a Padma award only after he achieved the the most prestigious Nobel.

Conclusion:

Neither the Olympics, nor the Oscar, nor the Nobel.. Nothing is more difficult than to get a Padma award. All you want to have is a lots of money, loads of political power and ofcourse a little talent.
