Please Don't Share

Hey, how are u ppl. The title is a bit weird right? that too in a blog opened for sharing? yup! this is true.. I had a chance of seeing this article somewhere and jus thought it was really very important to be shared. This is about the things which you are not supposed to share with your colleagues at your work place. The explanation given is quite interesting and quite true too. Its really worth a reading.

It's happened to everyone before. The constant flow of words that just keep coming, long after you've made your point (if there ever was one) and even longer after people stopped caring. The kind of gibberish that just won't stop unless someone else starts talking. The type of chatter that inevitably ends with you wishing you'd put a sock in it. Yes, verbal diarrhea is never a good thing -- but it can be worse in some places more than others.  Like the workplace. There are certain things co-workers need not know about each other -- your baby-making plans and stomach issues, for example -- but some folks just can't seem to keep their mouths shut. Some people talk to hear the sound of their own voice; others share because they don't really have a life and, by revealing details you'd rather not know, they create the illusion of one, says Linda Lopeke, a career advancement expert and creator of SmartStart Virtual Mentoring Programs. "Then there is the person who believes gossip, even about them, creates instant emotional intimacy. It doesn't." Walk the line Because people spend more time at the office with co-workers than anywhere (or anyone) else, some workers have trouble drawing the line between business and friendship, says Susan Solovic, co-founder and CEO of SBTV.com, and author of three books, including "Reinvent Your Career: Attain the Success You Desire and Deserve."
"It's a social environment as well as a work environment. However, you must remember while you can be friendly and develop a good rapport, business is business and friendship is friendship." Most workers don't realize that what they say has as much impact on their professional images as what they wear, Lopeke says. People who say too much, about themselves or others, can be seen as incompetent, unproductive and unworthy of professional development. To avoid your next case of verbal diarrhea, here are 13 things to never share or discuss with your co-workers.

1. Salary information
What you earn is between you and Human Resources, Solovic says. Disclosure indicates you aren't capable of keeping a confidence.
2. Medical history
"Nobody really cares about your aches and pains, your latest operation, your infertility woes or the contents of your medicine cabinet," Lopeke says. To your employer, your constant medical issues make you seem like an expensive, high-risk employee.
3. Gossip
Whomever you're gossiping with will undoubtedly tell others what you said, Solovic says. Plus, if a co-worker is gossiping with you, most likely he or she will gossip about you.
4. Work complaints
Constant complaints about your workload, stress levels or the company will quickly make you the kind of person who never gets invited to lunch, Solovic warns. If you don't agree with company policies and procedures, address it through official channels or move on.
5. Cost of purchases
The spirit of keeping up with the Joneses is alive and well in the workplace, Lopeke says, but you don't want others speculating on the lifestyle you're living -- or if you're living beyond your salary bracket.
6. Intimate details
Don't share intimate details about your personal life. Co-workers can and will use the information against you, Solovic says.
7. Politics or religion
"People have strong, passionate views on both topics," Solovic says. You may alienate a co-worker or be viewed negatively in a way that could impact your career.
8. Lifestyle changes
Breakups, divorces and baby-making plans should be shared only if there is a need to know, Lopeke says. Otherwise, others will speak for your capabilities, desires and limitations on availability, whether there is any truth to their assumptions or not.
9. Blogs or social networking profile
What you say in a social networking community or in your personal blog may be even more damaging than what you say in person, Solovic warns. "Comments online can be seen by multiple eyes. An outburst of anger when you are having a bad day ... can blow up in your face."
10. Negative views of colleagues
If you don't agree with a co-worker's lifestyle, wardrobe or professional abilities, confront that person privately or keep it to yourself, Lopeke says. The workplace is not the venue for controversy.
11. Hangovers and wild weekends
It's perfectly fine to have fun during the weekend, but don't talk about your wild adventures on Monday, Solovic advises. That information can make you look unprofessional and unreliable.
12. Personal problems and relationships -- in and out of the office
"Failed marriages and volatile romances spell instability to an employer," Lopeke says. Office romances lead to gossip and broken hearts, so it's best to steer clear. "The safest way to play is to follow the rule, 'Never get your honey where you get your money.'"
13. Off-color or racially charged comments
You can assume your co-worker wouldn't be offended or would think something is funny, but you might be wrong, Solovic says. Never take that risk. Furthermore, even if you know for certain your colleague wouldn't mind your comment, don't talk about it at work. Others can easily overhear.

Well is that true? I read the whole article, only to realise that i am doing most of them. now i have to change or atleast try. You too can try to follow these rules. These might not be good.. but really they are not bad.! huh!! signing of now. will be back with some other piece of information.

A small dedication for my sweet heart.. I am really missing u...!

This is a small poem for my sweet little heart..

She does not have a great beauty
no one is comparable to her
she does not have a great complexion
but it is not a shortcoming .

she is not highly educated
i tried to read her but could not complete
i dont like her way of dressing
still i didnt forget to notice it.

she doesnt have any pet dogs
but she didnt refuse my protection
she doesnt embrace teddy while sleeping
good that i am not born as one of the dolls.

she doesnt have lengthy hair
i lost myself in the forest and couldnt come back
she doent wear a golden ring
my wishes to hold her hand is yet to die.

i love what ever she owns
i dont have anything for me.

she doesnt wear a silk saree
her churidars are incomparable
it never hurts when she scolds
nothing exists like her care.

she doesnt smell like rose
there is no breathe without her
she is yet to be related to me
nothing exists without her relation to me.

Disclaimer : I am not the author of this poem. Does that sound good?. well, I really loved this. So if u understand Tamil, its Tamil translation will still be more mesmerizing.. I ll give that too. but no scoldings in comments pls..! [:D]

Influence of Twitter on Indian Celebrities

Hi friends,

This is an article i had read few days back... This had been really good and very true. This shows Indian celebrities hunger for fame..! and their attitude of overcoming their so called competitors.. well, that is good as long that is healthy... coming to the topic, Twitter. It is a social n/w site where you can just update your status and thoughts. Now almost all celebs who think they need to have their name survive in the society.. Just read on the following essay and know how funny the society really is..

To add on.. the person who wrote this essay also got a huge followers list after this essay..!! after specifying about all celebs, he too now became celeb. well, after writing so long. it will not be fair if i say i am @bigfatraja in twitter. i should be a little different na..!! [:D].

Now read on the essay...

The Indian twitter dream run has started this year and many celebrities are taking to it like fish to water. But do you know what started it all. Read on to know the true story......

On the eve of New Years eve 2010 a man called @KartikDayanand wrote a blog post called You can Be Superman : Use Twitter and sent it to @PritishNandy via @Minduread

@PritishNandy reads it and loves it. He calls it an 'Excellent Read' and instantly re tweets to his then 16,000+ followers

Among his followers are some highly influential people like @kjohar25 who has been trying to coax king khan SRK for a long time to join twitter

The moment @kjohar25 reads this Superman Post he forwards a copy to SRK on his email id.

SRK reads it and thinks what the hell. I too want to be Superman and then instantly announces to the world the very next day “I AM SRK and I want to be Superman “.

He creates a twitter ID called @iamsrk

Mainstream media goes gaga, and report that in the news. Thousands of SRK mad people start following @iamsrk on twitter

@ShashiTharoor who is the Indian with the highest no of followers on twitter feels insecure and wonders how to counter @iamsrk

@ShashiTharoor tries to best @iamsrk at this own game and creates a controversy to gain more followers by making the cattle class statement

He succeeds big time and gets a big leap of followers

Also meanwhile the headquarters of Twitter notice this strange surge in traffic to twitter because of the Superman Post.

They are excited at first but then realize that it might crash their servers. They decide to ban the word Superman from twitter.

Then realize it would be impossible to ban the word Superman so instead block the word Superman from being used as a password in future

@iamsrk who likes to be number one in all things in life wants to be no 1 here too.

@iamsrk realises it’s not as easy as it looks. So he starts tweeting about positivity and life similar to @MaheshNBhatt, keeping in tune with his upcoming movie My Name is Khan

Hrithik feels inspired and calls himself @iHrithik He wonders what to write about and starts giving tips about body building. He soon runs out of stream.

@Shahidkapoor who is a big fan of @iamsrk decides to ape him and he also starts speaking philosophy like him.

Since then @iamsrk has moved on to other things in life but poor @shahidkapoor is still stuck with the philosophy thing and is confused as to what he really wants in life

Genilia desouza who is the co start of @Shahidkapoor in chance pe dance also decides to join twitter

She calls herself @Geneliad and her biggest fan @chetan_bhagat goes gaga and can’t contain his excitement

But at the same time @chetan_bhagat is pissed off with the 3 Idiots team and is wondering how to give it back to them

By chance @chetan_bhagat who follows @PritishNandy reads the Superman post and thinks “Oh ya, now i know how to take on the 3 Idiots team, twitter is my weapon, i will be superman too”

He starts his give me my credit campaign on twitter and manages to create quite a ruckus but somehow never bothers to thank or follow @KartikDayanand the writer of the Superman post

@chetan_bhagat finds his moment of glory as no one from the 3 idiots team is on twitter

He continues to make fuss while suddenly there is another post from @KartikDayanand via @Minduread called 3 Idiots : Confusing a Nation!

Once again @PritishNandy reads it and loves it, he re tweets this post to his now growing followers which has few more influential people from media like @BDUTT @sardesairajdeep @virsanghvi and @sagarikaghose.

@sagarikaghose thinks she had written the most controversial review for 3 idiots but is stumped to know that someone else has outdone her

Same sentiment is shared by @taran_adarsh too, he does not know what hit him.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani who had plans to join twitter decide to drop their plans seeing the 3 idiots post

@allusirish who is the co producer of Ghajini also reads this post and shares it with his followers

His uncles are the telugu Superstar Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan

He also shares this over dinner with his brother Bunny aka Allu Arjun, his father Allu Arvind and his cousin Ramcharan Teja the rising superstar son of Chiranjeevi

There were talks of remaking 3 idiots in telugu, they decide to drop the idea the moment they see the 3 idiots post

Menwhile @chetan_bhagat thinks his issue is like a non issue in front of the new 3 idiots post.

He makes a silent retreat and starts talking about lord Krishna and also takes a sabbatical from twitter. He feels lost.

@ActorMadhavan when asked to take a stand says no comments and shies away from tweeting for a while

Same is the case with @1mrankhan who is the nephew of Aamir Khan, he coaxes Aamir to make a statement on the 3 idiots post but to no avail. Not knowing what to do he too makes a great escape from twitter and goes underground.

@udaychopra and @sonamakapoor too do the same thinking that it’s in fashion to go underground

Farhan Akthar who till then wasn’t on twitter hears all this fuss and feels insecure to know that there is another Kartik who might steal the thunder from him

He creates his twitter id @FarOutAkhtar and starts promoting his movie

He quickly adds an extra H in kartik to make it sound heavier and calls his movie Karthik Calling Karthik so that there is no doubt left as to who the really popular one is.

He is still not sure if he would succeed and manages to rope in Deepika Padukone who starts tweeting the same day by the name @deepikapadukone

@PriyankaChopra too feels insecure cause @DeepikaPadukone is getting active on twitter. She tries her best to be noticed

@Priyanka Chopra tries to make an impression that she is popular by visiting the twitter headquarters in USA and does a live broadcast to the audience at NDTV Indian of the year show

@priyankachopra also manages to become the brand ambassador for the NDVT greenathon event.

This upsets Aishwary Rai and she coaxes Abhishek to do something similar.

Abhishek who is also on twitter by the name @juniorbachchan thinks its high time he too did something serious other than taking about football thinks about it seriously

@juniorbachchan manages to become the brand ambassador of the Earth Hour

Aha, he has outdone @priyankachopra

@priyankachopra is pissed off and decides to unfollow @juniorbachchan

Meahwhile the old nemesis of Priyanka @realpreityzinta is busy making plans for IPL and Shilpa Shetty too joins the race calling herself @TheShilpaShetty

IPL begins and the whole country is talking about it, @LalitKModi and @iamsrk do their part

@Actor_Siddharth starts giving ball by ball commentary of the matches and people start unfollowing him

@mandybedi also joins the fray to add some glamour

No one is talking anything about Earth Hour

@juniorbachchan is worried; he wonders how to use twitter to promote the cause

He asks his best friend @Riteishd to help him out

But all he can talk about is @jacquie_furr

Even @vivek_oberoi is able to get more attention to #Prince than the earth hour

And @shrutihaasan gets more attention talking about Barbie Dolls and Crows

@juniorbachchan is pissed off and then happens to watch the Murugodas- Chiranjeevi movie Stalin which is a rip off from pay it forward and get a brainwave from there

@juniorbachchan bombards twitter with messages to his followers asking them to follow earth hour and to tell everyone they know about it, just like in the movie.

@KartikDayanand is spending a lazy afternoon in front of his laptop thinking what to write about next and is pissed off to see all those messages in his timeline

He wonders, India is anyway so backward and Earth Hour seems like a joke

@KartikDayanand sends few tweets ridiculing @juniorbachchan calling the earth hour a joke

@KartikDayanand is not alone, 99% of the world thinks so too

@juniorbachchan is pissed again

Meanwhile IPL is in full swing. There are more entertaining people contributing entertaining stuff online

@jhunjhunwala makes grand entries daily and finds new things to talk about sparking quite a funfest

He starts trending topics like #angadbediisgod and takes potshots at the MRF Blimp. People love it

Earth Hour seems to be a lost cause, @juniorbachchan is worried @priyankachopra is happy

@KartikDayanand seems to suddenly have a change of heart as he has a eureka moment at his sons school

@KartikDayanand writes about Earth Hour calling his post Earth Hour : Hour of Ignorance

He sends it across to @juniorbachchan and ABjr is ecstatic

He instantly retweets this link to his 1 lakh plus followers and the world stops ridiculing Earth Hour

Central govt feels insecure and thinks why didn’t they think of what @KartikDayanand wrote in his blog

The immediately axe @juniorbachchan for tweeting @KartikDayanad’s post of Earth Hour

@juniorbachchan is pissed again and this time his dad is also pissed

The big B wants to outdo @KartikDayanand now

He writes his blog and rants about the govt

@juniorbachchan is off to goa and starts looking for some Punjabi Chinese food to soothe his nerves

Big B is wondering why his blog is not getting the traffic which it should be getting. Little does he know that he is not yet on Twitter and hence not Superman

@kjohar25 hasn’t yet convinced big B to join twitter, he is more busy these days wondering how it would be to hold @rgvzoomin’s hand while watching Phoonk 2

@KartikDayanand and @minduread have a good laugh and think the world should know a little bit more about twitter

So @KartikDayanand is busy writing this post while @fakingnews is wondering whether to report this piece as #faking or #notfaking news

Hope i could open your eyes to the truth behind the influx and activities of the who’s who of Indian Tweeters!

Cheers! @KartikDayanand

cheers! @bigfatraja [lolz..]

Simple Things Becoming Strange

Hi all,
When i had quite nothing to do this weekend, i jus opened my videos collection in Orkut and was jus seeing the videos i had added and kept. when i came across this video which was added by me a cpl of months back, i noted something strange. it had more than 165 million views. Its no record video. no achievement video, nor any strange video. Just a simple home made video of two brothers, Charlie and harry.
I initially thought that, that it is just due to the spread and some coincidence. but later on exploring a bit, I got to know the popularity of this brothers. That popularity is of course created because of this video of course. There are hundreds of videos over youtube imitating this video. and this duo has also come in numerous TV interviews. there are dedicated blogs and twitter page for them. There is nothing very special in this video except for the cute reactions by harry.
It’s a home movie that any parent would be proud of – but this clip of a little boy biting his brother’s finger has become an unlikely internet hit – with more than 165 MILLION views. Titled Charlie bit my finger – again! The 50-second clip features two-year-old Charlie Davies-Carr sinking his teeth into his five-year-old brother Harry’s finger. It was initially posted on YouTube in 2007 by their father, Howard Davies-Carr, so that the boys’ godfather in the US could see them. The charming clip has seen the pair propelled to stardom after it was featured on American TV shows and has resulted in several worldwide fan clubs being set up for the boys. Even mobile ringtones sample the clip, which shows Harry yelling: ‘Ouch, Charlie, ouch! Charlie that really hurts.’
Huh!! the video is really funny and the news is really worth sharing.

Isn't it??

Prestigious People, Who make India Proud..!!

Hi people,
After having just slept and ate @ home for more than half a year, i too have joined in a company and have been working for the past 2 months.. I was really free then and i used to put out some regular posts and after having joined here things are completely different. I am not able to provide you with regular posts as before because of work pressure at the company... Wow.. it really feels good to lie..! well.. nothing of that sort.. am equally free as i was, even now.. but the issue is that i kinda forgot this hobby of mine..! good that after reading an interesting news, i got remembered that me too have a blog and thus came here to post about the issue.
Coming to the point, Padma awards!! there are three grades of awards namely
  • Padma Vibhushan
  • Padma bhushan
  • Padma shree
These are considered as the most prestigious awards given to the experts (or whatever u call them) in various fields like arts, sports, science, etc.. The question is about who should get the award, who deserves it and who does not, especially in the light of the recent list of awardees.. I dont have the rights to talk about all discipline. but i have some idea about the sports and arts field. Well lets start with sports. Still some of the olympic medalist have not been awarded Padma awards. Bindra got an award for getting gold medal. but what happened to Sushil. many of us hardly remember that name.
Next comes Arts, huh!! Governments wants Entertainment factor in the awards too. last year both Helen and Aishwarya Rai were conferred with Padma Shree. I mean one is at the peak of her career and the other has been away from cinema for ages now. Similarly this year too both Saif and Rekha have been awarded the Padma Shree. How can this be possible? Is the government confessing that it made a mistake by not giving Padma Shree to helen these many years?.. Well Even in this case, Rassul Pookutty, The Oscar winner.., Doesnt he deserve a padma award?? Or is Padma shree much more precious that only Artists like Akshay, Aish can get and oscar winners cant get that.. (thank god, AR Rahman was given one this year). And I smell something very odd in the selection of Illayaraja for the topmost Padma Vibhushan. He has achieved his peak decades back and he being given the award now is something odd. or is it that, since ARR is being awarded, some forces pulled that there is a senior still waiting?? ( only god and that panel knows).
Well coming to a general perspective, Sant Chatwal was included in the list of awardees for Padma Bhushan. Now Sant Chatwal is a rich hotelier based in US who is famous for hobnobbing with the rich and famous Americans, particularly the Clintons. It is another matter (for the govt) that he has been charged with fraud and tax evasion in US to the tune of nearly $100 million dollars. It is also an even smaller matter that banks whom he defrauded include three Indian banks and CBI has filed cases against him, some of which have since been closed though (is anyone surprised?). Hillary Clinton too had to face lot of embarrassment due to her links with Chatwal during her campaign for the office of president.
After having seen the peaks in sports and Arts, coming to Science and technology, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was able to get a Padma award only after he achieved the the most prestigious Nobel.

Conclusion:

Neither the Olympics, nor the Oscar, nor the Nobel.. Nothing is more difficult than to get a Padma award. All you want to have is a lots of money, loads of political power and ofcourse a little talent.
